I believe that the spaces we are surrounded by, live and work in, can alter and influence our mood and the way we go about our day to day lives.
As a designer, my goal is to inspire those who experience my work. Our surroundings should sing to us. Whether its Puccini's "Nessun Dorma" or Lady Gaga's "Just Dance", they should evoke an emotion. Even if the space is purely functional, it should still hum a tune. A space should solve problems, not create conflict with people or the natural movement of life. Whether the space is meant to be purely an art piece or a high functioning facility, it should not disrupt or antagonize the neighboring environment and the people living within.
Great design goes beyond what is trendy and pretty. It's functional yet still speaks to the user. It captivates and inspires and should always sing.
